How it’s made

Every StraDesignCo design begins with me. Technology is part of my toolbox, but the ideas, creative direction, decisions and final approval are mine. Here’s how one best-selling ornament came together.

  1. STEP 1

    A real moment

    Every design starts with how real doodles look and act. Like Teddi, melting into the bed with her chin on her paws.

  2. STEP 2

    An AI foundation

    I combine traditional digital design with AI-assisted creative tools to develop concepts and compositions. It often takes dozens of tries to land a pose and expression that feel like a real doodle, and most never leave my screen.

  3. STEP 3

    Color matching

    Then I match the color to the breed: the depth of a black coat, the tan points, the white blaze. I try palettes and lighting until the dog looks right, not just cute.

  4. STEP 4

    Fine details and the name

    Then I personally refine the artwork: details, color, lighting, texture and final composition. The name gets set so it looks like part of the art instead of a sticker on top. Nothing goes to production until I approve it.

  5. STEP 5

    Something you’ll keep

    My professional production partners handle the specialized printing and manufacturing, on ceramic, fabric or canvas, and ship it to you. Production-partner details are disclosed on each applicable Etsy listing.

  • Professional production partners handle the specialized printing and manufacturing that turn my finished designs into physical products. Production-partner information is disclosed through Etsy on the applicable listings.
  • I check every order. I start on your order as soon as it comes in and look over each design before it goes to production.
